In the version 1.6.0 of the Metal Slug Defense, three more areas are unlocked - Canada, Australia and Central Africa. Moreover, there are new units introduced as well. Each area completed would reward you 10 Medals.
The thing is, compared to the China last time, the stage 4 in the latest 3 areas are relatively more defeat-able. With the usual troops in your deck, you are still able to complete the stages without much hassle.

But the challenge is, how to achieve a S rate? You may think that it isnt important to get a Rank S (speed factor) in the World 3. But from my experience, a Rank S may give you a higher chance of obtaining a random item such as mobile satellite, rewards x2 (Ok. that might not be useful to you lol).
To make it short, in order to beat the 4th stage of Canada, Australia and Central Africa faster, the use of Leona and Ralf are critical. I dont remember how many times I have emphasized the importance of Leona. Her special skill has been proven super effective in a number of New Missions.

Metal Slug Defense Wifi VS PvP How to form the strongest deck
Alright, after so many POW saving rounds of the Metal Slug Defense games, it is time to go to the next level - Wifi VS PvP mode.
I am honest, I am yet to discover the strongest deck in the Metal Slug Defense Games as I havent unlocked all the units from the shop. Below only shows my current Deck. Basically fighting with the "Same Rank" is fine . But when it comes to All Ranks, there are still ways to go. This post is for open discussion and you are free to air your opinions and experiences.

First, I used to upgrade the AP buildup for 2 times before summoning the first soldier in the PvP mode. (You may think that this should vary depending on the distance between the portals).
Then, the Samurai Tank is my first soldier. I find that this unit is quite strong at the beginning (and the production is fast, but the attack speed is relatively slow). Immediately, it follows by either Di-Cokka or Trevor. When the enemies approach, activate the soldiers skill whenever possible.
Note: You may wait until the AP points are enough to summon at least 2 soldiers at a time.
Next, it should be Leona and Shielded Soldier. After learning from the New Missions that avoiding the critical hits are crucial in the battle, I favor Leona and Shielded Soldier, especially when they are able to minimize the damage incurred to our soldiers through their skills. HOWEVER, one discouraging fact is that, the network latency that takes place while activating the soldier skills are sometimes annoying. You may need to tap multiple times to cast the skills. The discrepancy of around 1 second could thoroughly influence the battle flow and determine the winner. Still, if the skills are successfully activated on time, this strategy is quite useful.
By now, i would either re-summon the troops mentioned above, or the rest if the cool down is still incomplete. Hence, you may place other soldiers instead of the Fat Eri, Fat Fio and Fat Tarma as stated. Dont forget to activate the Metal Slug Attack which could reward you some AP after killing the enemies.

Before I forget, lets recap the additional stuffs introduced in the Metal Slug Defense V1.15.0 (updated weeks ago):
New Areas in the 5th Map
After the Hong Kong and Canada Northern, two more regions are added - Egypt and Iran. As usual, I still find them easy to beat :)
5 more missions added, 61st to 70th. Interestingly, Leona shows up twice out of 5 New Missions here. So dont overlook this special unit. It has been mentioned again and again. Activating her special skill at the critical timing is just super awesome.
One interesting thing to mention, in the Wi-Fi Versus mode, there is a shortcut button to choose your default game mode. With that, you can skip those tedious steps to join the game.
Last but not least, there is a big sale on the Medals (Up to 70% if not mistaken).

I have to make sure my post is talking about the latest Metal Slug Defense at the time of writing - V1.15
From time to time, the Metal Slug Defense rolls out new units. It has been a hot topic about which unit is the strongest in this game. For sure, not only the strength or attack power, the Cost effectiveness is critical too.
Undoubtedly, the land unit like Leona, Morden Robot, Jupiter King, etc are the most voted units. They have been proved efficient and powerful during a 1 vs 1.
However, in this post, particularly, i would like to talk about the Air Units (eg: R.R-Shobu, Samurai Plane, Slug Copter, Flying Tara, Hover Units). Not all of them are free, but it is worth mentioning that some of them are special during the battles.
The one capturing my eyes the most, is the R.R-Shobu, the red air fighter. Why?
First, Air units are generally overlooked by the AI. Often, if you only summon air units, the enemies are unaware of your troops, and thus, they dont attack you! One of the great examples is the Big Shiee from China. Remember the last post on the China? The fact that the Flying Tara is able to strike the Big Shiee so effectively is mainly due to the fact that the latter doesnt detect it in the radar at all!
Second, the R.R-Shobu is one of the few air units having the special skill. By default, the R.R-Shobu launches a few missiles while regressing (to avoid enemies attack). Then, he will launch a final bombing to the enemies after finishing the missiles.
Now, the thing is, the special skill of the R.R-Shobu is able to Reload the ammunition! Meaning, if you activate the skill of R.R-Shobu at the correct timing (just after he has finished the bombing), he is able to re-launch the missiles and the bombing.
With this skill, the power of R.R-Shobu doubles! Together with the first advantage, it is to say that, the enemies are being bombarded with attacks without a counter-strike!
I have made several experiments. Air Units alone are sufficient to handle most of the stages, including those from the latest and more difficult maps!
The only prerequisite is the AP costs. Once you have upgraded the necessary HOME units (and rescue POWs accordingly), you will definitely be able to unleash the awesomeness of the air units in the Metal Slug Defense!

To sum up, this is the 5th map of the Metal Slug Defense V1.11.0 (the second special map).
The first 2 areas appear - German and Russian Far East
Honestly, with all the HOME and UNITS upgraded to the Max, these 2 new areas are not that challenging. In fact, i only summon the first 5 units in my deck - Leona, Clark, Ralf, Flying Tara and Morden Robot.
The good news is, after completing each area, 15 Medals are rewarded. Together with the Rank S awards, basically you will gain 36 Medals with this new updated map. :)
Anyway, I really look forward for more areas and challenges coming soon.
